Haloween Parade - Noon Sunday -
Barrett Elementary School, Rt 390,
Mountainhome, PA. Directions Our USS Barb Float, a Gato class Submarine will be brought to this parade. Line-up at the school (Thompson Way) between 1200 and 1230, parade steps off at 1330 and preceeds down Peterson Rd. (Rt390) Basic directions - about 13 miles from Pocono Pines (East 10 Mi. on Rt 940, North 3 Mi. on Rt 390). For car pool or ride on float up to the beginning of parade, meet at Tom's house at noon . Afterward, get together for chow & refreshments at Tom's house for members and guests. Note: In 2011Our participation in this parade was cancelled for safety considerations due to an unseasonal snowstorm. |

Veterans' Day Expo at Pleasant Valley School
THIS IS TENTATIVE - More info as available
The school complex is located in Brodheadsville, PA (at the junction of routes 115 & 209) The Barb will be on display at this event, which begins at 0800. Breakdown of the days events (periods): 8:00-8:50 AM, 9:15-10:10 AM, 10:35-12:45 gym open to display areas for students & community. Closing is 1:00-2:00 PM. Speakers all day long, briefly (5 minutes). Each period over 1000 students seated in gym. Setup ( removal of the Barb from the trailer ) is the night before @ 6:30 PM to bring it into the new gym at the high school. Replacement of the Barb on the trailer ( which also requires 4 hands ) will be right after the event finishes. Tobyhanna School in Pocono Pines - We will be having a presentation here. concurrently at 10:00 om Veterans' Day. |

2013 NATIONAL CONVENTION INFORMATION. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Base of USSVI and the City of Rochester MN invite you to the 2013 Joint National Convention of the USSVI and the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WW2 to be held in Rochester, the home of the World Famous Mayo Clinic. The Convention will run from August 25, through September 2, 2013. The Host Hotel will be the KAHLER GRAND in Downtown Rochester. Boat Reunions will be held at the DOUBLETREE HOTEL. These locations provide access to all of downtown with its many shops and restaurants and the Mayo Clinic. Most of which is connected by Skyways. Website will be up soon, Reservations will be accepted in early 2012.
