It will feature crafts and antique cars . Our USS Barb Submarine will be there.

Our 2011 fund raising raffle will come to conclusion at this meeting, when the winner's name
will be drawn and announced.     Please be sure your tickets/proceeds are turned in.
30 Oct - Sunday Haloween Parade - Noon Sunday - Barrett Elementary School, Rt 390,
Mountainhome, PA.      Directions
Our USS Barb Float,  a Gato class Submarine will be brought to this parade.
Line-up at the school (Thompson Way) between 1200 and 1230,
parade steps off at 1330 and preceeds down Peterson Rd. (Rt390)    
Basic directions - about 13 miles from Pocono Pines (East 10 Mi. on Rt 940, North 3 Mi. on Rt 390).    
For car pool or ride on float up to the beginning of parade, meet at Tom's house at noon .
Afterward, get together for chow & refreshments at Tom's house for members and guests.
Note: Our participation in this parade was cancelled for safety considerations due to an unseasonal snowstorm.

   (Rain date: 13[?] Nov.) 		Carbon County Veterans Day Parade - Jim Thorpe, PA.    
Our USS Barb will participate in this parade, which steps off at 1400.
Parade Map     Directions
Line up after 12:30, in position by 13:45, in the Jim Thorpe Area High School parking lot (Olympian Way).  
Parade will proceed via Center St., 10th St., North St.(Rt903), 6th St., Center St. again, disbanding at 2nd St.
The event will be televised.   All parade participants are invited after the parade for refreshments at Memorial Hall.
10 Nov - Thursday (setup) &
11 Nov - Friday 		Veterans' Day Expo at Pleasant Valley School
The school complex is located in Brodheadsville, PA (at the junction of routes 115 & 209)   
The Barb will be on display at this event, which begins at 0800.
Breakdown of the days events (periods): 8:00-8:50 AM, 9:15-10:10 AM, 10:35-12:45 gym open to display areas for students & community. Closing is 1:00-2:00 PM. Speakers all day long, briefly (5 minutes). Each period over 1000 students seated in gym.
Setup ( removal of the Barb from the trailer ) is the night before (Thur.) @ 6:30 PM to bring it into the new gym at the high school. Replacement of the Barb on the trailer ( which also requires 4 hands ) will be right after the event finishes.
Tobyhanna School in Pocono Pines - We will be having a presentation here. concurrently at 10:00 om Veterans' Day (Friday).

Immediately following the parade and Memorial service, we will proceed to Lake Naomi to launch our base submarine. This is an all hands evolution which will include the launch into lake and transit with escort craft to a beach location where we will transfer the boat back onto our trailer for transport. At the conclusion of the Launch-Transit-Recovery operation we will proceed to the Legion for wet down and sustenance. Here's how it went down!

Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, 11:30 am to 5:00 pm.
It will feature crafts and antique cars , and a lot of traffic potential.
This is an opportunity to sell raffle tickets, as it precedes our drawing.
We will need a minimum of 4 hands for the set up and 4 hands at the end, as well as coverage throughout the 2 days.
If we can get commitments for our manpower requirements , we will go. (...We did!)

Convening at 1100-1130 hrs and conclude no later than 1330-1400 depending on discussion.
